Life in the trenches was experienced by year 5 Caistor Primary pupils who have been visiting Yarborough Academy as part of a six week Primary Outreach Programme.

The pupils have experienced activities such as cooking, creating clay gargoyles, a wide range of sports such as javelin, high jump, athletics as well as live history through drama, starting at Caistor War Memorial and leading up to the CYA trench. The programme has been designed by specialist staff at the Yarborough Academy to give the children a taste of what and how they would learn at the school.

One year 5 pupil said: “The activities have been brilliant, especially learning about how people lived through the war.”
