Foundation class children at Brigg County Primary School celebrate as the extension to their block is opened by Brigg M.P. Andrew Percy with Head Teacher Beverley Gowers (left) and North Lincolnshire Councillors Rob Waltham and Carl Sherwood (right) looking on.
“Now we have some more room at last.”
That was the sentiment expressed by children and staff as the thriving Foundation Unit at Brigg Primary School enjoyed the formal opening of its newly extended facilities.
Andrew Percy MP was joined by children from the school and North Lincolnshire Brigg and Wolds ward councillors Rob Waltham and Carl Sherwood for the opening.
“The foundation children here have been taught in a very small classroom,” said Headteacher at Brigg County Primary School Beverley Gowers.
“The extension to that area will have an enormous impact on the facilities that can be available for the children - it has really aided their learning.
“It has a particularly big impact on the physical activity they can do.
“The space in the original building has had its limitations.”
And Coun Waltham agreed the new facilities would make a significant difference to the pupils.
“It is essential that we provide the best facilities for children in North Lincolnshire to ensure they can reach their full potential,” he said.
