Time to read up for book awards

YOUNG readers in Rasen are being encouraged to vote in this year’s Lincolnshire Young People’s Book Awards.

The shortlist for this year’s awards has now been released and children have until June 1 to vote for their favourite.

There are two age categories, 9 to 11 year-olds and 12 to 14 year-olds, with just five books making each shortlist.

The awards are designed to encourage children and young people to read and use their local libraries, where the books are available.

Anyone aged between nine and 14 years can vote, so long as they either live or go to school in Lincolnshire, or use the county’s library services.

You can vote online, at your local library or through your school.

For more information on the awards go to www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/lypba or ask at the library.
