De Aston students will be performing at the Sheffield showcase

Young actors from De Aston are getting a taste of life in the limelight after entering the National Theatre Connections Festival.

Having given two performances of ‘Mobile Phone Show’ at school last week, one of which was observed by a National Theatre critic, the budding thespians will now be ‘touring’ the play at the Sheffield Crucible Theatre Studio on Tuesday, March 26, performing in a double bill with another school in the regional showcase.

There are more than 100 entries for the Festival, but the students could potentially perform the show in a London West End Theatre if they get through to the next stage.
