Budding chefs from De Aston - Jayne Milburn and Ellie Carter

De Aston students received a special commendation for their chicken dish at the recent Lincolnshire Schools Go Global cookery competition held in Gainsborough.

Jayne Milburn and Ellie Carter, pictured, prepared grilled chicken served with rice and a mango and avocado salsa, followed by Irish apple amber.

Judges said their salsa was “fresh and healthy” and the `chicken was “cooked perfectly.”

De Aston’s other team, Jack Padley and Grace Lucas, served up soup, followed by steak pie.
