Every member of De Aston School’s Year 10 had an opportunity to embrace the world of work for a week recently.
Students undertook a wide variety of placements throughout the local area, spending their time with private businesses, retail shops, catering establishments and schools.
Each student was visited by a member of the school’s staff during their placement to evaluate how they were getting along.
“Employers gave an outstanding amount of positive feedback regarding the impact students had had upon their workplace,” said school spokesperson Caroline Hobson.
Bradley Swaby (pictured) enjoyed working at Fox Plant Hire in Market Rasen, where staff reported he was a good worker who showed interest in what he was doing, while Gina Pears was enthusiastic about her placement at Frontier Agriculture.
Sandy Jackson ‘fitted in brilliantly’ at Playing Aloud. He recorded a music track and is hoping to continue to help out at weekends.
