A Caistor school has received a national kitemark for its excellent practice.

Following a year of work, the team at Lincolnshire Montessori is celebrating after being recognised for the quality of its Montessori education, being accredited with national kitemark of the Montessori Schools Association.

“We are thrilled with this outcome,” said director Theresa Ellerby.

“The input of the whole team on a daily basis has resulted in the school being acknowledged for its work.

“We are the only Montessori primary school in the county and one of only 60 primaries in the UK to have received this accreditation. ”

A national assessor visited the Top House site in June and November and described the school as offering a ‘rich Montessori learning environment’.

The school was inspected for its commitment to the Montessori philosophy, learning and development, the prepared environment, Montessori practice, classroom management, staffing and leadership.

Fellow director Sylvia Fields added: “Congratulations to the team for their ongoing commitment to the Montessori philosophy.

“We will now begin the accreditation process at our Stallingborough nursery.”

In receiving the accreditation, the Caistor centre joins a group of 145 Montessori settings in the UK which have committed to this international quality assurance scheme.

Montessori Schools Association Director of National Strategies Barbara Issacs said: “Congratulation to Lincolnshire Montessori School for achieving their accreditation by the Montessori Evaluation and Accreditation Board.

“Their achievement endorses the school’s deep commitment to children and their families to deliver the best Montessori education they can.”
