TEACHERS from across the Rasen area will be striking today, Wednesday, forcing some schools to close their doors to pupils.
Primary schools at Binbrook, Caistor, Faldingworth, Hemswell Cliff and Tealby will all be closed to children.
In Market Rasen, the primary school will be partially open but the secondary school – De Aston – will also close its doors to pupils.
The walk out will see the teachers join two million other public sector workers in the nationwide action.
The strike was as concerns continue over proposed changes to the public sector pensions, which would see workers pay more into their pensions, work for longer and accept a pension based on a “career average” salary, rather than, for many, the current final salary arrangement.
