Children from Nettleton Primary School paid a visit to Market Rasen Primary School last week as part of a new collaboration.
In January this year, the two schools entered into a soft federation, with the aim of working together to enhance the education of all the children.
Both schools are now led by Executive Head teacher Andrew Smith, with Rhiannon Schaffer appointed as the Head of School at Nettleton.
“The Governors and staff at both schools feel that this is a very exciting time and can see the significant benefits for the children already,” said Mr Smith.
“The effect of the federation has been very positive ,with the children having the opportunity to collaborate on many different events such as specialist art days, Easter School and curriculum activities.”
Last week was the first time children from Nettleton had seen the Market Rasen School - a much larger building than their rural school.
“The arrangement is especially beneficial for Nettleton Community Primary School who have access to specialist teaching and training from the staff at the Market Rasen Primary,” added Mr Smith.
“Going forward, much is planned between both schools to improve the children’s learning even further including a new irresistible curriculum being launched across both schools in September 2013.”
