A magnificent concert of music thrilled a packed Westmoor Hall for The Vale Academy’s annual Christmas Concert.

The school orchestra began with an appropriate tribute to the 70th anniversary of the Dambusters raid with Eric Coates’ ‘Dambusters March.’

There followed further pieces from the woodwind ensemble, a piano solo from student Elliot Kermon, the Vale Samba Band and a moving vocal duet from Rayanne Brackenbury and Laurenne Lethbridge.

The first half ended with an amusing drama presentation of Roald Dahl’s Cinderella, while the second half was more varied, with the audience joining in traditional Christmas carols.
