School in u-turn over head’s departure

Ellenor Beighton

Just months after it was announced Market Rasen De Aston School headteacher Ellenor Beighton was leaving her post, the academy has now confirmed this is no longer the case.

Back in November De Aston’s chairman of governors Rev Canon Alan Robson wrote to parents to say Mrs Beighton would be taking on another role at the school from September 2014-15 and would then leave to “progress her career elsewhere”.

The school interviewed five people for the headteacher role - but felt none of the candidates were strong enough for the
job.

Governors then entered into discussions with Mrs Beighton, who agreed to remain headteacher for the “foreseeable future”.

Mrs Beighton told the Rasen Mail: “I am delighted to continue to working with De Aston’s students, staff and parents, whom it has always been a privilege to serve.”
