Market Rasen Church of England Primary School has been judged as good with outstanding features in its most recent Ofsted inspection in November 2013.

The inspection team recognised results in tests and assessments show a “steep upward trend over the last three years” and the quality of teaching was described as consistently good and some as outstanding.

The report stated behaviour and safety was excellent, describing the children “keen to learn, relish opportunities to take responsibility and are extremely kind and respectful to each other, staff and visitors.” They also praised the children’s excellent attitude to learning.

Also judged as outstanding was leadership and management stating the school has improved rapidly since the previous inspection demonstrating an excellent capacity to improve further.

Governors were singled out for praise, being described as supportive, challenging and extremely knowledgeable about the school’s performance.

The school’s headteacher, Andrew Smith, said he was delighted with the report: “It reflects all of the hard work, effort, dedication and commitment put in by the staff, parents, governors and children over the last three years.”
