Author Veronica Podbury visited Caistor Yarborough Academy to share her wisdom and experiences of writing novels.

Veronica has had two novels published, both dealing with topical issues and to appeal to a modern audience.

Pupils were able to quiz Veronica on how she developed her ideas, plots and characters into a finished book and will hopefully take away a few tips for their own writing.

“It has given students a valuable insight into the craft of creative writing and the importance of reading in preparation for tasks in their English GCSEs,” said Michelle Bower, Joint Leader of English. “It was fantastic to hear so many pupils asking questions and to know more about writing skills.”
