Market Rasen De Aston School headteacher is leaving her post at the end of this school year.

Ellenor Beighton - who has been headteacher since January 2006 - will take on a new, undisclosed role at the school from September 2014 until September 2015, when she will “progress her career elsewhere”.

In a letter to parents, De Aston School chairman of governors Rev Canon Alan Robson said: “For the sake of continuity, development and change, Mrs Beighton will from September 2014 until September 2015, take on a new role within the life of our school.

“This role will give added incentive and value in maintaining our outstanding achievements in recent
years.”

The letter stated: “Following discussions with Mrs Beighton about her intention to progress her career elsewhere from September 2015, I write on behalf of the board of governors to inform you that we will be seeking to appoint a new headteacher for September 2014.”

Mrs Beighton declined the opportunity to comment.

And De Aston School would not reveal further details about Mrs Beighton’s new role starting next September.
