Youngsters from primary schools around the area have been taking part in a week-long summer school at De Aston School.

And they had a cracking time on the first day making parachutes to drop eggs from a first floor window, with 15 of the 23 eggs surviving the fall.

“All the activities are based around STEM - science, technology, engineering and maths - but there are plenty of creative, artistic and sports activities too” said Paul Williams, who led the week along with Robin Johnson, Stella Williams and Ruth Atkinson.

Prizes and certificates were presented on the final day.
