Children at Caistor’s Lincolnshire Montessori School have been getting back to nature with the Forest Schools initiative, enjoying weekly activity sessions in Waterhills.

The whole sessions are spent outdoors taking part in activities linked with nature - such as crafts using natural material resources, identifying animals and plants, den-building and exploring mud to name but a few.

The children are free to follow their own agenda or join in the activity offered by the Forest School leader.

A number of studies have shown Forest School increases children’s health, self-confidence, social skills, their knowledge of nature, love of the local environment and much more.
