After nearly 20 years as a cleaner at Caistor Grammar School, with half of these looking after the Design and Technology Department, Patricia Patchett from North Kelsey was gifted a commission from one of the department’s students.

And year 13 student Olivia Amos has been working since June to design and develop a contemporary coffee table for
Patricia’s conservatory.

The final product was completed recently and displayed, alongside many other examples of students’ work at the D and T Department’s 2014 Exhibition.

The finished coffee table, which Patricia said “exceeded her expectations” will soon be passed on to her to enjoy at home.
