£4.6m to improve school buildings

Three of the area's schools are set to benefit from a multi-million pound investment project.

North Lincolnshire Council has announced it is investing £4.6 million in improving and maintaining the county’s 
schools.

As part of this, major refurbishment work - costing a total of £1.8 millon - will be carried out at seven schools, including Brigg’s Sir John Nelthorpe secondary school .

This work will include everything from electrical maintenance and new roofs to installing new 
boilers.

Further maintenance work costing more than £790,000 will be carried out at 10 primary schools - including Kirton-in-Lindsey Primary School and Wrawby St Mary’s CE Primary School.

North Lincolnshire Council deputy leader Coun Rob Waltham said: “Ensuring our schools in North Lincolnshire are fit for purpose is a top priority for us.”
