STUDENTS in Year 11 at De Aston School raised almost £200 towards their World Challenge expedition to Uganda and Rwanda in 2013 by hosting a ball for younger students.
The Year 9s put on their glad rags – boys in suits and the girls in their best dresses – to enjoy a disco and refreshments.
There was also a raffle, with prizes donated by Market Rasen businesses, including Boots, Blue River Jewellery, Style Studio, Special Occasions and Indulgence.
Students voted for the ‘King’ and ‘Queen’ of the ball (pictured) – Michael Tracey and Lauren Francis, who were each presented with a trophy.
The event was organised by the team of World Challenge students, with the assistance of staff members, most notably Jamie Lee Johnson, language teacher, who will be joining the students on their African adventure.
