A MARKET Rasen pooch has won a top prize at the nation’s biggest dog show.
Handler Danielle Mather and one-year-old Löwchen Eddie scooped the Best Puppy award at Crufts.
Eddie – owned by Danielle’s parents David and Kathleen – beat off competition from three other dogs to win the coveted prize for the best young dog of its breed.
Ms Mather, of Caistor Road, was left beaming with pride at her and Eddie’s performance at the world-famous Crufts show held at Birmingham’s NEC. She said: “Eddie is owned by my parents but it was just me here with him and we had a fantastic time.
“To win Best Puppy is a real surprise, we didn’t expect that at all and he’s still so young but we’re delighted.
“He was pretty well behaved for the most part, he’s always been a bit of a fidget but when he got out on the floor he moved beautifully.”
The show, presented by the Kennel Club, attracted more than 26,000 healthy, happy dogs.
