The snowdrops were blooming in abundance at Burton Agnes for the first coach party to be taken out by Les Robinson as he launched his 2014 programme of visits to places of interest.

Members of Barkwith and District Gardeners Association were joined by friends and neighbours from a wide area, which as usual filled the coach.

Les had arranged an early arrival with the owners, who opened up the facilities to welcome the party before other visitors started to arrive.

There was lots to see in the grounds, with a display of wooden sculptures, garden games, a vegetable garden, an old and unusual style building with a treadmill in an adjoining shed next to a well and the parish church nearby all adding interest.

Collett Garden Centre, between Beverley and Hull, was the choice for enjoying the main meal of the day and additional purchases.

The next trip is to the Harrogate Spring Show on Thursday April 24; to find out if any cancellations are available all Les on 01673 857063.
