The first meeting of the new year for the group will be held on Friday, January 24, when a social evening is on the agenda with a cheese and wine buffet and competitions for added interest.
Although there is no speaker for this meeting, a range of speakers and topics are included in the new programme, including lawns, roses and a calendar of colour, with a new addition at the September meeting where a plant swap is part of the evening’s agenda.
The annual Mini Market will take place on Saturday May 17, when there will be a huge variety of plants for sale at very reasonable prices.
They are all propagated or sown and grown on by members and generously donated with the proceeds for Association funds.
The highlight of the Gardeners’ calendar are the two annual shows.
This year the Spring Show is planned for Saturday April 12 and the evening show on Friday August 29.
Visitors are always welcome to attend the meetings and membership is just £5 for the year, with no admission charge to the monthly indoor meetings which are held during the winter.
