More than 20 organisations from across Lincolnshire are coming together later this month to support people living with dementia and their carers.
Charities, public bodies and local businesses which work with people with the condition will be at the Ruston Marconi Sports Club in Newark Road on Monday, February 17, from 10am to 2pm.
Organisations attending will include The Red Cross, Carers Connect, Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, Age UK Falls Prevention Service, My Choice My Care and Alzheimer’s Society.
Organiser, Sharon Smethers from Alzheimer’s Society in Lincolnshire said: “Having dementia can be a stressful experience both for the person with the condition and their carer. Yet with the right support and information people can live well.
“This event will be an opportunity for people to find out more and to talk to more than 20 organisations who can help.
“People will be able to find out about things like financial help, staying independent and local support groups without having to find the time to contact dozens of organisations.
“There are around 11,000 people living with dementia in Lincolnshire and that number is continuing to rise, so we think this kind of event will be a real lifeline to local people.”
