Three fathers are putting their best foot forward to raise money for a Market Rasen youth team.

Tim Paul, Mick Quilter and Martin West will be walking from Driffield to Market Rasen this Saturday, August 10, to raise money for the town’s under 15 footballers.

The fundraiser has been given support from two of the town’s businesses.

Smudged of Gallamore Lane has printed up some special t-shirts for the trip and Tesco will be providing the drinks and energy bars along the way.

Market Rasen Tesco community champion Jenny Stimson and husband Dick will also be driving the support vehicle for the event.

And to ensure the team are kitted out properly, some equipment has also been donated by the British Army, where Martin is a Warrant Officer.

The 55-mile route will see the trio leave Driffield just after midnight to pass through as many villages as possible, as well as stopping off at the Tesco stores in both Beverley and Brigg, on their way back to Rasen.

Almost £500 has already been raised by the walkers and anyone who would like to add to the total can call in to the Rase Park fun day on Saturday, August 10, 10am to 4pm.
