A LOCAL skip hire company is in court next week on a series of environmental charges.
The prosecution against Clifford Page and Pages Skip Hire Ltd is being led by the Environment Agency.
They face charges of illegal waste sites, breach of permit condition and duty of care offences, contrary to the Environment Protection Act and the Environmental Permitting Regulations.
It is claimed, between June 2 and September 20, 2011, at Lissinglea House Farm in Lissington, Clifford Page failed to comply with Condition 1.2.1 and Appendix A of an Environmental Permit, by accepting waste asbestos, which is not a permitted waste.
It is also claimed, Mr Page, as a person who carries controlled waste, failed in his duty to prevent the escape of waste asbestos from his control.
Three charges of depositing controlled waste without a permit are being faced by Pages Skip Hire Ltd:
l On or before June 17, 2011, at Farmers Arms, Lincoln Road, Welton Hill
l On or before June 24, 2011, on land at Ashlin Farm, Ashlin Lane, Dunholme
l Between June 2 and September 20, 2011, at Lissinglea House Farm, Lissington.
Pages Skip Hire Ltd is also charged with failing in their duty – as carriers of controlled waste – to take all such measures applicable, as were reasonable in the circumstances, to prevent the escape of waste asbestos from their control.
The case will be heard at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on July 12.
The Market Rasen Mail understands Pages Skip Hire Limited went into administration last week.
