A TEACHER accused of abusing his position of trust by engaging in sexual activity with teenage girls has pleaded not guilty at Lincoln Crown Court.

Richard Cross, 50, of Heath Close, Welton has been accused of nine counts of abusing his position of trust by engaging in sexual activity with a 16-year-old girl in Lincoln – the offences include allegedly kissing a girl on many occasions and touching in a sexual manner.

He denies all nine charges.

He also denies three counts of making an indecent photo of a child and one allegation he incited a child to be involved in pornography by asking her to take naked photos of herself with his camera.

The offences allegedly took place between July 11, 2011 and December 5, 2011. The three alleged victims cannot be named for legal reasons.

Mr Cross will stand trial later this year.
