Police helicopter in Market Rasen car chase

A police helicopter was used in Market Rasen in the early hours of the morning to search for a stolen vehicle and its driver.

The incident was called in to Lincolnshire Police at 11.18pm on Sunday, May 17 and the search continued into the early hours of May 18.

The vehicle, a Toyota Rav4, had been abandoned and was later recovered just off the A46 in Market 
Rasen.

It had been stolen previously in Humberside.

The driver, who is believed to be male and in his 30s, was not found.

Police understand there were not any passengers in the car.

Residents in Market Rasenhave reported being woken up at 3am to the sound of the police helicopter circling the 
town.

Anyone with information in relation to the incident is asked to call police 101.
