Pair accused of schoolgirl assault to stand trial

A HAIRDRESSER and launderette worker accused of assaulting a schoolgirl are to stand trial at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court.

Beryl Mettam, 51, of Waterloo Street, Market Rasen – who works at The Ironing Board in the town’s Queen Street – and trainee hairdresser Alie Mettam, 21, of Thornton Road, North Owersby, have been accused of common assault in Willingham Road, Market Rasen on September 9, 2011.

Both women deny the charge and will stand trial on August 15 and 16.
