Officer welcomes seasonal drop in crime

A MARKET Rasen police officer has welcomed the news there have been fewer incidents in the town during the summer.

Earlier this month the Rasen Mail reported how businesses and organisations in the town had noticed an improvement in the level of crime and vandalism.

Crime hot spots, usually targeted by vandals during the light summer evenings, have been quiet this year.

PC Rob Graves from Market Rasen’s Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “The summer period can, for a number of reasons, see an increase in the incidents of crime and anti social behaviour and it’s therefore encouraging that this does not seem to have happened this year.

“I’m pleased that local organisations such as schools, churches and businesses have reported that it’s generally been a quiet, trouble-free summer.

“The team do all we can to retain a high level of local visible policing within Market Rasen and will continue in our efforts to bring down the levels of crime in the community.”
