Market Rasen woman admits benefits charge

A MARKET Rasen woman who admitted claiming benefits she was not entitled to has been given a conditional discharge, Lincoln Magistrates’ Court heard.

Janette Colton, 50, of Coronation Road claimed housing and council tax benefit she was not entitled to between August 3, 2009 and November 21, 2011 after failing to let West Lindsey District Council know she had started working.

Colton was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £100 to the Department for Work and Pensions.
