Gang of men disturbed by property owner during attempted burglary in West Rasen

A gang of men attempted to break in to a cottage in West Rasen this morning, Wednesday August 7, but were disturbed by the property’s owner.

At 10.15am a small black car with four males inside approached the cottage in Rase Lane, West Rasen. Two males got out of the vehicle and climbed onto a small roof and one male put his hand through the upstairs window to open it.

The resident shouted out which startled the offenders who jumped down from the roof ran to the vehicle and left the area at speed.

Both males were young and wore blue shirts. Witnesses took the index number of the vehicle and enquiries are ongoing, however anyone who may have any further information about this attempted burglary is asked to call police with incident number 147 of 7th August. These males may travel to other villages so police are urging residents to be extra vigilant as this was a bold attack on a dwelling during daylight hours.
