A TWELVE foot flag pole and Union flag have been stolen, less than 48 hours after they were put up.
Leaders of the 2nd Market Rasen Scout Group discovered the theft when they went to their Kilnwell Road headquarters last Monday, August 8.
“We have never had anything taken before and this is quite heartbreaking,” said Akela Maggie Collinson.
“The flagpole was one of the things the children have been raising money for and to have it taken away like this before they have even seen it is really upsetting.”
The scout hut is located behind a six-foot fence on land next to Market Rasen Primary School.
Together with the police, scout leaders have searched the field boundary and surrounding area to see if the items had been dumped, but there has been no luck.
“Someone must have seen whoever walked off with a twelve-foot aluminium flagpole,” added Mrs Collinson.
“We would just like to have it back in place for when the children start their meetings again in September.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 0300 111 0300 quoting incident 378 of August 8.
