Crown Court date for child porn case

A FURTHER seven offences have been put to a former local man, who is in custody awaiting trial on child pornography charges.

John Wright Hale, 64, now living in Dunton Bassett, Leicester, is in custody awaiting trial on two charges of possession of an indecent pseudo photograph of a child and of indecent assault on a boy under 13, both alleged to have been committed in Louth in January.

The further charges were put to Hales when he appeared at Skegness Magistrates Court on remand via video link from prison.

The charges consist of six alleged offences of possessing indecent pseudo photographs of children on January 24 at Market Rasen and one of distributing an indecent photograph of a child between November and December 2010 at Louth Road, West Barkwith, Market Rasen.

Prosecutor Mrs Thomas told magistrates there were a considerable number of images involved, which fell into the most serious pornographic level.

No pleas have yet been entered in respect of any of the charges as defence solicitors are still awaiting disclosure of all of the evidence against Hales from the Crown Prosecution Service.

Magistrates have declined jurisdiction on the new charges as well as the two original charges, and all nine charges are due to be committed this Friday, April 8 to Lincoln Crown Court.
