Magistrates Court round up

Ryan Richardson, 28, of Jameson Bridge Street, Market Rasen, has appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court charged with two offences.

On October 15, the court heard how Mr Richardson is accused of assaulting a woman by beating her in Market Rasen on May 21.

He is also accused of causing the same woman actual bodily harm by assaulting her.

This allegedly happened on May 21 also.

Mr Richardson has not yet entered a plea.

The case has been sent to Lincoln Crown Court where Mr Richardson is due to appear tomorrow (Thursday, November 12).

Mr Richardson has been given conditional bail until this date.

Darren Matthews

Darren Matthews, 40, of King Street, Market Rasen, has been handed a suspended prison sentence after he pleaded guilty to one count of having an offensive weapon in a public place, Lincoln Magistrates’ Court heard on October 15.

The court was told how Matthews admitted having two axes in King Street, Market Rasen on September 11.

He has been given a six-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months.

Matthews must also do 180 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.

He has been ordered to pay a £180 criminal courts charge, £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and an £80 victim surcharge.

Callum Saunders

Callum Saunders, 18, of Anglian Way, Market Rasen, has been sentenced after he pleaded guilty to having an offensive weapon in a public place, Lincoln Magistrates’ Court heard on October 15.

The court was told how Saunders had a cultivator in King Street, Market Rasen, on September 11.

He has been given a 12-month community order and must do 65 hours of unpaid work.

Saunders was ordered to pay a £180 criminal courts charge, £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £60 victim surcharge.

The court how Saunders also admitted having a quantity of class B drug cannabis in Market Rasen on September 12.

He was given no separate penalty for this offence.

Gloria Reed

Gloria Reed, 33, of Bridge Street, Brigg, is due to be sentenced after she pleaded guilty to two assault by beating charges, Grimsby Magistrates’ Court heard on October 19.

The court was told how Reed admitted assaulting two different women by beating them in Cleethorpes on August 8.

She is due to be sentenced at Grimsby Magistrates’ Court on December 18.

Reed has been given unconditional bail until this date.

The case has been adjourned.

Shane Bollan

Shane Bollan, 29, of Lincoln Road, Brookenby, has pleaded not guilty to an assault charge, Lincoln Magistrates’ Court heard on October 22.

The court was told how Mr Bollan denies assaulting a woman by beating her in Brookenby on August 25.

He is due to stand trial at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on January 19. Mr Bollan has been given conditional bail until this date.

Leslie Spindley

Leslie Spindley, 69, of Traingate, Kirton Lindsey, has pleaded not guilty to a string of offences under the Sexual Offences Act, Scunthorpe Magistrates’ Court heard on October 22.

The court was told how Mr Spindley is accused of three counts of sexual assault on a female, in Kirton Lindsey and Scunthorpe, between January 1, 2015 and July 1, 2015.

And he is accused of one count of indecent assault on a girl in Scunthorpe in the 1980s.

Mr Spindley has pleaded not guilty to all four charges.

The case has been sent to Grimsby Crown Court where Mr Spindley is due to appear on November 9.

He has been given unconditional bail until this date.

Daniel Carson

Daniel Carson, 23, of Coronation Road, Market Rasen, has pleaded not guilty to causing acutal bodily harm, Lincoln Magistrates’ Court heard on October 23.

The court was told how Mr Carson is accused of assaulting a man thereby causing him actual bodily harm in Market Rasen on January 19 last year.

Mr Carson denies this charge and is due to stand trial at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on January 11.

Mr Carson has been given conditional bail until this date.

Warwick Ellis

Warwick Ellis, 59, of Appleby Gardens, Broughton, has pleaded guilty to three criminal damages charges, one burglary charge and one theft charge, Grimsby Magistrates’ Court heard on October 28.

The court heard how Ellis caused £15,000 of criminal damage to an oil tank and surrounding ground between April 19 and 26, £20 of criminal damage to two car tyres between May 23 and 24 and £105 of criminal damage to door locks on June 8.

He stole a £20 clothes drying rack on June 8, the court was told.

And the court heard how Ellis stole £200 of garden tools during a burglary on a shed on May 3.

All offences happened in Beelsby.

Ellis has been given conditional bail until November 23 when he is due to be sentenced.
