Councillor’s drink drive shame

A West Lindsey councillor has pleaded guilty to drink driving.

Malcolm Parish, 78, of Cliff Road, Welton - who represents the Welton ward - has been banned from driving for one year and has to pay a £280 fine.

Parish was caught in Black Bull Yard, Lincoln Road, Welton on August 5 this year.

A blood test revealed Parish had 107mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood. The legal limit is 80mg.

He has been ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
