Caistor pensioner in the dock for driving while banned

A PENSIONER caught driving while he was banned from holding a licence did not know he had been disqualified, a court heard.

Lincoln Magistrates’ Court heard how Shaun Donovan, 67, of Dale View Flats, Caistor drove a Jaguar S Type car on the A46 in Lincoln on July 18 this year when he did not know he had been banned from driving.

Donovan also pleaded guilty to failing to give information to the police on November 7, 2011, about the driver of a car alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £43 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

Donovan was given no separate penalty for driving while disqualified.
