BRIGG could receive faster Broadband as a result of a joint initiative to secure improved broadband speeds.

North Lincolnshire Council and North East Lincolnshire Council have joined forces to secure £2.62m of Government funding in order to incentivise commercial broadband suppliers to invest in Northern Lincolnshire rural areas.

This project is called the South Humber Broadband programme.

The target is to get 100 per cent of the South Humber area on to broadband and at least 90 per cent of the population receiving superfast broadband by March 2015.

People are encouraged to back the campaign by going on to www.shumberbroadband.inf .

Residents are being asked, if broadband is important to them personally or for business, to spend a few minutes completing one of the surveys to help bring superfast broadband to North Lincolnshire.
