STAFF at De Aston School took part in a bake-off to raise money for Children in Need.
There was a £3 charge to enter the competition and then a charge to try out the cakes too.
Needless to say, the cakes didn’t last long and it was very close when it came to voting for their favourite.
But it was Alice McNeill, the headteacher’s PA, whose mini lemon meringues won the day.
She received her bake-off trophy from event organiser Kevin Mitson, who said: “Bake-offs always go down well. It is a good way of making money as everyone enjoys a bit of cake.
“I was really pleased with the response and congratulations to Alice.”
