UPDATE: Police launch investigation over missing deer as 120 are recovered and 80 still loose

Police have launched an investigation after an enclosure containing 200 red deer was opened overnight on April 18/19.

The incident happened at Arden Farms in Walesby and was reported to police at about 8am today (Tuesday, April 19).

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “At around 8am today a report was made to us that around 200 deer were no longer in a paddock where they were usually kept at a farm in Walesby, Market Rasen.

“Around 120 deer have since been recovered.”

Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident and have asked for anyone who may have any information to contact us on the non-emergency number 101 quoting incident 63 ofApril 19.
