Two Caistor Grammar School students are facing a hair-raising time later this month.
Sarah Clark (15) and Evie Bainbridge (14) will be having their hair shaved off to raise money for charity.
And their luscious locks won’t be wasted - their hair will be donated to The Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for children who have lost their own hair due to cancer or alopecia.
“We have set ourselves the humongous target of £2,000, so we would appreciate any sponsors, however big or small - it all adds up,” said Sarah, who will be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support, in memory of her Auntie Hayley who died in October 2012, aged just 42.
Evie will be donating her half of the sponsorship to Iris Global, which helps orphans in Africa.
“I was so inspired when I met the lady who set up the charity,” said Evie.
The shaving event will take place in Howsham Village Hall on Tuesday, July 22 from 6.30pm, with teas, cakes and a raffle to help boost fundraising.
All support is welcome and anyone wanting to sponsor the girls can do so by logging on to www.justgiving.co.uk/sarahandevie2014 - they will also be collecting money on the night.
