Helen Rowson, Deputy Mayor of North Lincolnshire, will attempt a tandem skydive this Sunday, August 17, at Sky Dive Hibaldstow’s Open Day to raise money for the Mayor’s Appeal Fund - Lindsey Lodge Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support.

“The Mayor was asked if he could do the jump but unfortunately or fortunately for him, he is away on holiday! So I was asked if I wanted to do it and I thought, why not? It’s for a great cause,” said Helen.

“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous, but I just need to keep thinking of the money I’ll be raising for Lindsey Lodge Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support – both fantastic charities that help so many people.

“I don’t have a specific figure in mind of how much I’d like to raise – just as much money as possible really, so please show your support and sponsor me.”

The tandem skydive will see parachute out of the plane at 15,000 feet, harnessed to an experienced instructor.

And anyone who wants to sponsor her can contact Alicia Snow on 01724 297559 or email alicia.snow@northlincs.gov.uk .
