Members of a dog agility group are stepping out with their four-legged friends to raise money for charity.
They will be taking on the 147-mile Viking Way later this month in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
“We have been training for some time now as it is very important that our dogs are fit enough to take part,” said Sue Kirwin from South Kelsey, one of those taking part.
The group will set off from Oakham on May 23 for the week-long walk to Barton.
And there will always be support nearby thanks to the generosity of NC Site Services Ltd of Grimsby, who donated £300 to cover the cost of a mini bus, supplied at a much reduced rate by Amvale.
“Our choice of charity is Macmillan because at some time in our lives most of us will either benefit directly or know someone who has benefitted from Macmillan Cancer Care,” added Sue.
“One of our group members has recently lost her mum after a brave battle with cancer and a good friend of the group also died some years ago at a very young age, so we are walking in memory and support of many people.”
