Andrew, known to all as Andy, worked for Lincolnshire County Council for the past 24 years, firstly in Youth Services and then, since 2009, in Children’s Services, as a manager of front line services including Family Support Services.

During this time he was involved in a variety of local, regional and national initiatives and is an experienced manager and leader of teams and staff.

“I feel incredibly privileged and happy to join Age UK Lindsey as the CEO and I am looking forward to working with the Trustees and staff to continue the excellent work already happening and developing the Charity further,” he said.

“My focus as CEO will be making sure that we are delivering quality services to older people in East and West Lindsey, supporting and enabling them to make the most of later life.

“Age UK Lindsey has a fantastic reputation for supporting older people, with a team of incredibly committed staff and volunteers who are providing Information and Advice, Befriending, Home Support and running our charity shops.

“I am really excited to be given this chance to lead the Charity forward.”

Born in Newstead, Nottinghamshire, Andrew has lived in Lincolnshire since 1992.

Educated at Ashfield Comprehensive School, he went to Leicester University, where he gained a professional qualification in Youth and Community Development Work.

Andrew has also obtained a Postgraduate qualification in Management at Lincoln University.

An ambition for some years has been to work for a Charitable Organisation and after leaving the County Council, the opportunity to work for Age UK Lindsey was too good to miss.

“Andrew will bring leadership, experience and commitment to Age UK Lindsey and we welcome him as our new CEO,”said Chair of Trustees John Thorold.
