Scout celebration - Wragby Scout Group held their Annual family barbecue, when 120 children, parents, former members and leaders celebrated 100 years of Cubs and 30 years of Beavers.

The children ran the stalls, which included an assault course, cotton balls on head race and much more.

There was an interesting selection of photographs from the past, which everyone had fun looking at and recalling happy memories.

It was a special time too for new Scouts to be invested and Beavers moving up to Cubs.

The Bronze Award, the highest in the Beavers, was presented to Harry Meggitt.

Food was a great hit and the atmosphere was perfect

After the food, a cake decorated with the badges of Beavers, Cubs and Scouts drew the evening to a close.

Thanks are expressed to all who attended; to parents supplying salads and the Lincolnshire Co-op for also providing food to support the event.

At the end of the event, a total of £108 was raised to support the group funds.

WI outing - Derbyshire was the chosen venue for the WI’s annual outing this year, when members and friends enjoyed a full day touring the countryside.

Their first stop was for coffee at Dobbies Garden Centre and then they travelled to Castleton.

Mid-afternoon, they continued their journey to Bakewell, which was swarming with crowds of people and tents as part of a weekend festival.A craft exhibition was a particular interest for some, while others enjoyed wandering around the town.

A raffle held on the coach raised £60, which was sent to a Royal Air Force Charity and a most appreciative letter of thanks was received very promptly in acknowledgement.

Chapel coffee - The next regular monthly Coffee Morning in the Chapel will be held on Friday, August 12, from 10am to 11.30am.

All are invited to attend and enjoy a cuppa and chapel members are looking forward to welcoming you.

There is no charge, but any donations made will be appreciated.

Family bingo - The death of one of the regular callers at the family bingo nights was recorded at the latest session.

David Dunbar will be remembered by organisers and bingo regulars for his enthusiasm and the support he had given to the bingo sessions and the town hall during his years of voluntary service.

On a happier note, there was also the opportunity to sing Happy Birthday and present a card to Tressa Machin, also a regular helper on duty and now chairman of the Town Hall Management Committee who was about to celebrate a special birthday.
