Spirit awards postponed at Middle

Community Spirit celebrations had to be put on hold last week due to bad weather, but they will be bubbling up again in March.

The Middle Rasen magazine group were planning to hold their annual awards night and anniversary celebrations in the Church Hall, but this has now had to be put back to Tuesday, March 5 at 7pm.

The community magazine serves the Middle Rasen and Barkwith Group of Parishes and is put together by a team of volunteers.

The group has recently published its 50th issue and is now entering its fifth year of publication.

To mark these special events, all volunteers will be presented with a certificate in recognition of their dedication, commitment and hard work.

The awards evening will also see the customary Community Stars awards being made.

The Stars are given to individuals or groups that have made a difference to the communities in which they live.

Last year, the recipients were Liz Margrave, who had been cook at Middle Rasen luncheon club for nine years, and the South Willingham coffee morning team.
