Brigg’s Good Friday street Passion Play needs more men to fulfil roles as disciples.
That is the message in an appeal by director Ann Spolton, who otherwise has cast all lead roles and is delighted with the way rehearsals are going.
However, this year’s play is a year late.
The last production was in 2008 and rehearsals are in full swing for this year’s Friday, March 29 date.
Vincent Thurston, 19, is to play the lead role of Jesus Christ in the production by Churches Together in Brigg and District.
Paul Dickinson will play Pontius Pilate and Andrew Bunker will portray Peter, the disciple who betrayed Christ.
“This is an ecumenical production, very much part of Churches Together in Barton and Brigg,” said Ms Spolton.
“We shall have a cast of 30 actors at least, but there will be plenty of extras needed to add to the impact on the day.”
Rehearsals take place every Thursday evening in Brigg Methodist Church, starting at 7pm.
Any men willing to play the roles of disciples and soldiers are urged to turn up and take part in the rehearsals.
