FIVE members of Middle Rasen Rangers have been awarded their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

Imogen Bateman, Laura
Wilson and Sam Reilly
were presented with their awards at the local Guide campsite; Nicki Surfleet and Sarah Wilson also achieved their Bronze, but where unable to attend the presentation.

To achieve the award, the girls - from Middle Rasen, Kirkby, Glentham and Newtoft - have undertaken volunteering work, including leadership in Guiding and tennis coaching, as well as completing expeditions in the Lincolnshire Wolds.

The physical section included swimming, tennis and badminton, while the skills section saw activities from driving to knitting.

Guide leader Jeannette Reilly said: “The girls have worked hard to achieve these awards while continuing to join in other activities at Rangers.

“It takes real commitment to see these awards through to the end.”

The group would like to
thank local charity groups
who have helped provide
equipment, without which they could not have achieved their awards.

Donations were received from the CAV fund through West Lindsey, Market Rasen Round Table, Market Rasen Lions, Glandford and Lindsey Lions and Laceby Trefoil Guild.
