MARKET Rasen Methodist Church welcomed two very special visitors recently.

President of the Methodist Conference, the Rev Alison Tomlin, and vice-president Deacon Eunice Attwood spent the morning at the church as part of their whistle-stop tour of the Lincoln and Grimsby District.

The Rev Tomlin shared many stories and experiences from her ministry as a Superintendent, Chair of District and now in the second half of her year as President.

She also took questions about funding of circuits, listed buildings, alternative forms of worship, and statistics on age and membership.

Senior Steward of the Circuit Leadership Team, Janet Faulkner said: “I was so pleased to see folk from all round the circuit and from neighbouring circuits.”

Circuit Steward Glenda Taylor added: “It was a great privilege to have the president of the conference visit Market Rasen. No-one can remember a president ever visiting before.”
