A redevelopment of Caistor Fisheries has been proposed, with a new cafe and hatchery building.

West Lindsey District Council has received a planning application from agents ADS (Scunthorpe) on behalf of local resident Drew Thompson.

The site at 99a Brigg Road has several fishing ponds used for course fishing, plus a camping site, which also has spaces for touring and static caravans.

Agent Andrew Cheffings says a new business is planned, which would replace one that is currently “run down.”

The redevelopment also proposes new toilets, offices and increasing parking from 20 to 54 cars. The cafe would be some 405m2 and would include a 43 cover anglers cafe, with terrace, plus another ‘main’ cafe and terrace. There would also be a snug and lobby. The buildings would feature brickwork at low levels, with timber cladding above and imitation slate roofs. Mr Thompson was unavailable for comment.
