Bridget Pitman-Brand, owner of the Market Rasen Pet Centre, is taking over the former West Wold Deli.

“Undies and Overs” plans to open on March 3, barely weeks after Maria Pemberton closed her business.

“I’m going to put in underwear for all, nightwear for all, childrens’ clothing, bed linen, duvets, quilts, pillows and towels,” said Bridget, who has ran the Pet Centre in Market Rasen for 15 years.

“The most missed shop in Market Rasen was Eve & Ranshaw, a department store which still trades in Louth,” she said.

Thus, Market Rasen needs something similar and a vox pop of Rasen Mail readers also revealed a lack of knickers and bedding in the town.

“Unfortunately, my shop at The Willows, Glentham, was not doing well and is closing. I will move my shelves and try and give Market Rasen what it says it wants,” Bridget explained.

But it all depends on consumer demand, with Bridget just taking a 6-month lease. She will tailor her wares to what people tell her they want, but its up to the town to make the new shop succeed.

“I love Market Rasen. I think the place has lots of potential,” Bridget added.
